Thank you everyone that came to the year end party, and AGM. The kids all had a great time out skating, and I think everyone stuffed themselves silly with the pizza, and enjoyed the delicious treats by Marcie!
Thank you to Bailey for putting together a great slideshow of the fun times we had on and off the track! All riders received a tshirt, and there were tons of door prizes given out all night long.
The AGM was very informative, and we welcomed the four new board members for the 2014 season:
President: Martyn Boulter
Vice President: Lee Cejalvo
Treasurer: Wendell Nunes
Track Maintenance: Gerry Erickson
and our new members for 2014:
2014 is shaping up to be another great year! Enjoy the off season…keep riding when you can, and keep those legs movin’!
Our annual AGM is a few days away, I have uploaded a file with the Agenda. An AGM is a requirement in a Society and one which all of us as members should attend if possible.
If you have attended the Annual General Meeting in the past, this meeting will be slightly different in that with all the kids running around I think we are better to focus on what is required rather than spend time discussing if we should do “this or that.”
The agenda is focused towards accomplishing this within 60 minutes, we will hold a session in the new year where everyone is welcome to express their views and all the board members are open to discussing the track at any time. Suffice to say that as we enter the off season, nothing is set in stone!
If you have an interest in becoming a board member, i would like to point out and review expectations:
All the board members are active that means they are attending at least 10 races per year.
Board Members will be required to lead one area, whether it be Track Maintenance, Sign Ups, Concession, Rebuild, Striders, Rider Development, Fund Raisings, Community Development, Finance etc. etc.
Board Members should avail themselves to help at the track for set up, maintenance, take down, track work parties, etc. etc.
Attend most Board Meetings
We reward those board members who contribute with discounted racing, free bottled water, super deals on left over hot dogs, litter clean up, etc. etc. If your really awesome, you can even announce! Some of these benefits are earned with your level of involvement.
Our board currently sits at 11 and at the moment we have a few open spots.
If you would like to be part of the board i would suggest a call with Marty or Lee so you will be prepared!
