Langley BMX was the host venue for the BC Summer Games BMX race this Saturday. The BCSG events were for athletes between 12-16 years old; racers had to compete in select events for their zones earlier this spring in order to earn a spot in this race.

Congratulations to Bailey McHale-Boulter, Hayden Mechielsen, Alanah Erickson, Malcolm Kemp, Dustin Pospolita, & Melissa Ruscheinski for their selection and participation in this once-in-a-lifetime event! You all represented Langley with class, and we’re really proud of you. Click on the links for pics and stories.

Track Rebuild

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

Exciting news. Langley BMX is to be rebuilt by one of the top ABA track builders, Keith Arnst. Keith is scheduled to start work on the morning of July 29th and be finished on or before Aug 01. Keith is well known for building tracks that are suitable for all ages and skills. We will be addressing the drainage issues at the track on this build by utilizing existing drainage lines that have been covered up in previous rebuilds. This will make the track somewhat longer.

In order for the track to be rebuilt we will have to close Langley BMX park for the above mentioned dates.

Aug 02 should be very exciting as we all get to know our new track.

In order to allow all members to have input we ask that all suggestions be sent to the club directors by email via the “contact us” tab on the website. We will work with Keith to try and address these suggestions.

Canada Day Race For Life

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

It’s wet but we’re going for it. The track dries out quickly so a little rain actually keeps the dust down. If the clouds open up and it starts to pour, we will post a cancellation here on the site. See you at the track!
