Hey everyone- hot off the presses!

The folks at CBS have donated Jason Carnes’ 20″ Redline to raffle off for the RFL. The bike will be at Langley for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and also be at the Nanaimo Nationals in the CBS tent for viewing.

100% of the proceeds will go towards the Race-for-Life and BC Children’s Hospital in memory of Matt Hemmingson. Tickets are only 5 bucks!

The draw will be held at the end of the season at the Canadian ABA Grands in Chilliwack.

Ok folks, thanks to everyone who came out to clean up the track on Saturday, shame on those who didn’t. This track is run entirely by volunteers and it would have been nice to see some more bodies out there so all the little jobs could get completed…next time I guess.

This is a fun week of racing for everyone starting with practice on Monday, regular race on Tuesday.

Our Race for Life on Thursday, sign up is from 10-11am. If you’re coming out to race and you don’t have a 1-day waiver, please come early to get you from filled out.

Friday night is a double-point race, sign-up from 6-630 and the 2nd stop of the Dino Dash will be the same night, come out to watch the old guys go fast!! We have a special prize for all riders but you have to be there to get it!!

Saturday morning is our PCR with sign-up 9-10am and if you want to race again, head up to Squamish for their Double-points race with a sign-up from 5-6pm

Sunday has one more in Squamish, their PCR with sign-up at 9am.

Langley BMX work party is a go. We will be dragging the track and working on the corners. We also have 2 weed eaters rented for a couple of hours to attack the weeds on the backside of the berms. We also have a variety of other jobs to be done in preperation for the BC Summer Games.

We need your muscles, big and small to ensure our track looks smooth and fast all summer long. These work parties are always more fun when everybody shows up. Come have some pizza and get a little sweaty!!
Saturday June 26. 10 am to 2 pm.
Pizza lunch will be served for all workers who stay for the 4 hrs.

Langley BMX is hosting one of the best BMX camps in North America on Aug 21 and 22, 2010. The time will be 10-3 each day at a cost of 100USD

Our apologies for taking so long to get this going. Life has been hectic. Over the months, we’ve received several expressions of interest in this development team. There is no racing resume or pedigree required; we do want kids who’ll embrace what this team mission is all about:

The Langley BMX Development Team provides a BMX racing platform aimed at ensuring a fun, healthy, and educational environment for the amateur BMX athletes. The Team will emphasize enjoyment of the sport through fun and respectful competition; that promotes personal and athletic growth; that ensures that all of our riders have fun competing together as a team; where development of sportsmanship, leadership, character building, and camaraderie are prioritized. The ideal team members will be positive influences on their peers on the track, and carry that practice through off the track, and into their communities.

We’re having a meeting after practice (~7:30) on June 14th at the moto shed. This is our opportunity to brief the parents on team concept / vision, explanation on competitions / races (ABA nationals / BC Cups / PQR / Western Series / BC Champs / National Champs), clinics planned, volunteer positions required, and other tid-bits. We’ve set a sign-up deadline for June 16th. We must have sizes for JERSEYS selected by then. Jenn Perigo will have samples available to try on for size.
