Last Tuesday race!!

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

We had a great turnout for our last Tuesday race. 16 motos that included a pro-am!!! Scott Erwood showed up fresh from Chula Vista and Patrick Camire made the move to pro!!! Congratulations to Patrick!! There were 5 other riders chasing the pros and the $180 purse, Scott lead all 3 motos with Patrick on his tail the whole time.

Thanks to all the parents who volunteer. I mean it. Your help not only makes our jobs easier but it lets us know that you care about the track and want to be involved. We appreciate every thing you can do to help.

Next race is Sunday the 27th.

Sign-up is 9-10. See you there!!!

Langley Code of Conduct

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

This letter is to address the membership regarding recent incidences of detrimental conduct and behavior that took place in the stands during the September 15th district race and during the meeting afterwards.

The Board of Directors has formally dealt with the parties in question and we would like to move forward and finish off the season in a positive manner. Langley BMX has created a CODE OF CONDUCT that will require the signature of all racers and all parents of racers. We ask all parents to take the time to read through the “Rider’s Code” with your child and sign it.

The form will be available at the track and here to download: LANGLEY BMX CODE OF CONDUCT.

Please feel free to contact any of the members of the Board of Directors if you have any questions or grievances with this policy. Also, we welcome as many members as possible to the AGM in November, where you have an opportunity to vote on the new Board of Directors. The meeting is for the parents only of Langley BMX members.

Thank you,

Langley BMX Board of Directors.

UCI Results & Video

3940000888_6f19eab26eThe final video is posted here.

Official results here.

Tory Nyhaug made it to the 1/4 finals but couldn’t crack the field with a 5th spot. I’m proud of all of our Canadian riders and this event shows how the governing bodies in BMX can unite and still put on a great show. Now we need to figure out how we can build a supercross track in BC so we have a fighting chance against these guys…anyone have an extra 500,000 dollars lying around?

Chula Vista Madness!!!

Friday, September 18th, 2009

chula2The US Open National is in Chula Vista California this weekend. It’s a combined event for both the ABA and UCI sanctions. This is an exact replica of the Olympic track that was built in Beijing.

Watch some of the practice videos here.

The clip #6 has someone casing the berm jump and snaps his forks off !!!

There will be live coverage of the event on www.go211.com You need to sign up to watch, but it’s well worth it.

You can cheer on our Canadian riders and try to imagine your 9 year old riding there in 10 years!!!!

Looks like 3 Canadians qualified, Nyhaug, Erwood and Brown!!!

Tuesday night racing.

Last nights racing was fun-tastic folks!! 17 motos on a school night with the sun setting fast and we managed to have a pro-am as well. Big thanks and congratulations to Steven Creighton for his recent upgrade to pro and for coming out to tear up the track.

The Canadian Grands are fast approaching and we would love to see every rider out in Chilliwack either racing or cheering on the Langley riders. Click here for all the details.

Two other important dates to keep in mind.

Our Annual General Meeting is Sunday Nov. 22 7-8PM at the George Preston Arena (accross from the track) We would love to see as many parents there as possible to let us know how we’re doing. (no kids for this one folks)

Our year-end party and awards is Sunday Nov 15th 3-7PM and this is a great way to get all the kids and parents together and maybe not talk about BMX (yah I know it’s no possible)

We’ll keep everyone posted so check the site as the dates get closer.

Thanks from Langley BMX!!
